Tennis Players We Love to Hate

October 18th 2010 02:15
Which Tennis Player Would You Most Like To Punch In The Face?

Every tennis player looses their cool at some point, some go over the top, while others just get on your nerves once in a while.
Gunaxin takes a look at the tennis players we love to hate the most.

tennis players we love to hate
John McEnroe
McEnroe is a great color commentator now and has made hilarious appearances in movies and on television. But back in the day, McEnroe was the biggest crybaby. If I met him now, I’d want to shake his hand, but back in the 80s, I’d say he deserved a punch.

why we hate serena williams
Serena Williams
First, a disclaimer. Under no circumstance does Gunaxin endorse hitting a woman. But if there’s any woman who can likely take the punch, and deserves a good swat for her behaviour, it’s the egotistical, Mr. T-looking Serena Williams. Her tirade at the 2009 U.S. Open was uncalled for, and her ‘apology’ was insincere.

Boris Becker
Boris Becker
After losing a match at Wimbledon in 1989, Becker got drunk and knocked up a woman in London… while his wife was pregnant with their second child.

Jimmy Connors
Like McEnroe, Connors is a celebrity to shake hands with now, but back in the day, he was McEnroe Jr. and had his share of tantrums and hissy-fits.

tim henman and ball girl
Tim Henman
Henmen is an unlikely candidate for this list, but remember that he was the first player to get kicked out of Wimbledon after hitting a tennis ball at a ball girl in 1995.

The History of Madden NFL Games

September 13th 2010 03:00
Madden NFL (know as John Madden Football before 1993) is an American football video game series developed by Electronic Arts Tiburon for EA Sports. The game is named after Pro Football Hall of Famer John Madden, a well-known former Super Bowl-winning coach of the Oakland Raiders and color commentator. The games have consistently been a best seller, and has even spawned TV shows where players compete. EA Sports has announced that the video game series will continue despite Madden's retirement as a broadcaster in 2009.

Electronic Arts has sold more than 85 million copies of Madden NFL since 1988, and as many as two million in one week, for more than $3 billion in total sales. A team of 30 developers and more than 100 game testers works on each new Madden NFL at EA Tiburon in Orlando, Florida.

Today we take a look back at the video game covers from the series since its inception.

Competitive Eating

August 20th 2010 03:04
Competitive eating, or speed eating, is an activity in which participants compete against each other to consume large quantities of food in a short time period.

It may sound like a bit of fun, but in today's world (especially America and Japan) competitive eating is as serious a sport as any.
Competitors put in just as much work and training as other elite athletes.

The info-graphic below sourced from TermLifeInsurance will explain what it takes to be the best speed eater, and the biggest eating competitions of the year.

How To Win Rock-Paper-Scissors

August 11th 2010 02:31
The common game known as Rock-paper-scissors is often used as a selection method in a way similar to coin flipping, drawing straws, or throwing dice. However, unlike truly random selection methods, rock-paper-scissors can be played with a degree of skill, especially if the game extends over many sessions with the same player(s); it is often possible to recognise and exploit the non-random behaviour of an opponent.

This info-graphic from ChaCha will teach how to win at Rock-Paper-Scissors every time!

Soccer Over Acting

November 9th 2009 01:24
Watching high level soccer especially during a world cup can be gripping entertainment. There is one problem however, after a tackle or other incidental contact the players act as though they are in pain in order to gain free kicks or penalties from the referee. This sort of behaviour demeans the players, but more importantly brings down the whole game.
Hopefully one day this aspect of the world game will be gone, but for now let's have a laugh at some of the faces pulled and other acting put on by players. Thanks to Life.com for posting these. See the full set here.

San Francisco Bay to Breakers

Bay to Breakers in San Francisco

The Bay to Breakers is an annual footrace which takes place in San Francisco, California. The name reflects the fact that the race starts at the northeast end of the downtown area a few blocks from The Embarcadero (adjacent to San Francisco Bay) and runs west through the city to finish at the Great Highway (adjacent to the Pacific coast, where breakers crash onto Ocean Beach). The race is 7.46 miles (12 kilometres) long, and is run on the third Sunday in May.
