Procrastination flowchart. Yes. No. You are here. Is there work to do? Have you started? Are you lying? Is there a deadline? Is the deadline within 6 hours? Any major implications for not doing it now? For you or someone else? Is the deadline within an hour. Do you “really” need to do it. Digg/Reddit/Other. Read all the comments. Optional: Write comments. Enter procrastination loop. Any way to get out of it? Are you hungry? Find food. Do you have to cook? Do you have money? Go out to eat! Eat food. Internet. Randomly browse. Anyone to instant message? Check email. Are they interesting? Message them. Check away messages. Anything new? Something you have to reply to? Mark as unread. Wait was that “new” email or simply old email marked as unread? Take care of it later. Wikipedia. Start trail of related facts. YouTube. Read all the comments. Optional: Write comments. Start trail of “related videos”. Social networks. Live vicariously through other’ pictures. Read about people that are mostly uninteresting. Read up on mostly generic profile updates. Find anything interesting? Has a significant amount of time passed? Exit loop and return to start. Any way to get out of it? Is it morally objectionable? Can you justify it anyway? Does the justification make sense? Meh, do it.
