I have the up most respect for these guys, its such a feat of amazement to raise your pain tolerance levels that high in the name of aesthetics.
Do not say these are ugly, do not say they are discusting. They are the person's inner most desires and experiments.
What I find discusting is that you can just sit there and have no colour in your life, no adventure. You are discusted by people who adorn themselves with these beautiful contemporary and controversial pieces of jewellery. You do not see the skill that goes into these gorgeous piercings. Ok some may have a lot of them, but it just makes them more diverse. You are all in the wrong culture to judge these people.
They are employable, but not for those narrow minded office jobs this right wing society is being forced into.

oh btw if they can afford to have this done then they must be doing damn fine for themselves. I have my nose pierced and it cost like $52 (canadian) and it's just a tiny stud too.
I like the first guys nose piercing. I've never seen that done before. Same with his nose ring, that's pretty cool. lol his horns are pretty sweet too XD

I know at least two of these people and believe me they are not short of work. Of course, they are not looking for rat-race office-based drudgery - and if that's work to you then enjoy it with your beige-coloured friends. And by all means take the piss out of them for the way they look if it makes your humdrum existence seem somehow more worthwhile.
Also, just for the record, the last guy with the hundreds of ring piercings was doing that for a world record - they are only temporary!

Haha personally, I don't care if someone wants to get a bunch of piercings, but that's not what this post was about. It was just saying people like that don't get employed; at least, a vast majority of them. I'm sure they can find some kind of work, but it'll never be at a high end job.
Sorry people, that's just the way life is; no reason to be offended by someone bringing up the truth.

OH MY GOD!!!!! y would youu do that that is so minging!!!!!!!! OMFG!!!!! A piercing is okaii but i dont c y people go to these lengths with piercings its no different and it makes youu look so ugly!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is nigh on impossible to afford mods like these if you are unemployed, I should know I recently ran out of work (self-employed joiner, not alot of jobs going at the mo, what with the recession and all) and I can't afford to get more mods done. I have several piercings in my ears, two of which are stretched, three in one eyebrow, two in my lower lip, one in my upper lip and I'm stretching my septum. I had planned to get microdermal implants so I could get a similar set-up to the guy in picture one, but thanks to unemployment I can barely afford the jewellery for my septum, never mind the process required for that.
I am a hard worker and have previous experience in shops and such, but no-one will give me a job serving the public because of my piercings and visible tattoos and I think that is incredibly hypocritical. We live in a world where we are constantly told to admire and respect diversity and yet as soon as we decide to make ourselves distinctive we are insulted and derided for it.
Just because you would never do it does not mean you have the right to call someone ugly or disgusting because they like it. If I was not sexually attracted to a certain race, such as black, asian or even caucasian people, I would be called racist for saying they were ugly. There is little difference here as far as I am concerned. You are closed minded bigots, get a f*cking life.

umm excuse me it does give me a right, these people are wondering why there not getting a job, well im sorry but there apperance really isn't helping them look good in an interview is it!!!
Actually these people are not wondering why they can't get a job, in all likelyhood these people have jobs. Closed minded people like yourself assume that people who look like this cannot get a job, and you know what happens when you assume, right?
That's correct, you make an arseh0le of yourself.
None of these people were contacted for comment on the issue of their employment, the enire issue of employment was created by the person who posted the pictures.
The point you make about interviews simply serves to perfectly illustrate my point about discrimination. There are equal opportunity laws in place all over the world which are supposed to stop employers hiring on the basis of appearance. If I refused to give you a job on the grounds that my customer base or other employees would have issue with your race or a physical disabilty/deformity then you would waste no time in calling me a bigoted f*ckstick and hauling me in front of a judge for compensation. These people may be qualified for more jobs than you. That, combined with experience and employment history, should be the only factors in the hiring of staff.
You are discriminating people for the way they choose to look and you have no right to do so, no matter what you think. You may disagree with it and not like it and you have a right to say so, but you have no right to insult others for their personal appearance. It doesn't hurt anyone (well it hurts the person getting it done, but not as much as you would think) and adds a bit of colour and diversity to the world.
In addition (apologies for the rant by the way, I promise I'll wrap it soon), piercing and tattooing are ancient arts and should be respected as such. The spread of judeo-christian religions throughout the western world has demeaned the history of the body modification culture and contributed highly to the demonisation of anyone who undertakes such modifications. In this day and age we should be able to accept that not everyone subscribes to this view and respect their choices.
Each of those people have their own reasons for their modifications. Some may be religious (in the above cases I grant that this is unlikely), merely aesthetic or deeply personal in some other form. All my tattoos have personal meanings behind them, it would be impossible for others to guess those meanings, but each tattoo is a mark of my personal experience. My piercings are more an aesthetic decoration, but still present a side of myself to the world that would otherwise remain unseen.
I have no right to insult you for the colour of your hair if choose to die it blonde, or for the style you choose to wear it in. I do not like the styles and looks that are popular in sub-cultures other my own and I will state that to anyone who asks me. I will not however insult and deride those peole for choosing to look that way. If I insult someone it is because of my personal experience with that person, not the way they look, because I am not a superficial person. I have many friends who look 'ordinary' and who dislike my own look. I even have family who despise the way I look and constantly try to convince me to at least lose the piercings. However they do not insult me and most even begrudingly respect my decision to look the way I look. My mother was once like you, but she has read books and magazines on the body modification culture and history which I have given her and has come to respect the image even though she does not like it.
You are ignorant of the body modification culture and history, so, no, you have no right to insult anyone for their choices.

The ignorance some people have displayed on this forum is appalling. The childish, judgmental comments bashing bod mod are completely out of place. You choose how you look, so do we. We all have that right. The marginalized are always forced to be the objective and (in my opinion) better half of society. I don't care if some think that bod mod is disgusting. I think it is damn hot. I have had people hyperventilate at the sight of my piercings. I understand that it is not for everyone, but that does not give anyone the right to insult me ( and all other bod mod lovers).
In conclusion, to all you bod mod bashers, grow up. Didn't your mother teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say you shouldn't say anything at all?
I just had a labret on my lower lip a week ago.... an hour after I had it done.. I was hooked and ready to get more done. I'm already thinking of getting my ears lip and eye brows pierced.
My mom doesn't get it either, but she is not me.
There is something liberating about piercing. Its spiritual. Its personal. I feel it speaks volumes about a person that others of the norm don't comprehend.
I'm not here for others to figure out. I am my own individual. Others strive to fit the norm. Fine and good for you, you drone.
There are so many reasons to have these mods done, and if you need to have it explained, you'll never understand it.
I'm being me and I feel better for having mine done and I can't wait to get more.
My bosses are concerned... but I do my job more than needed, and the company hand book doesn't say that I can't be pierced. I hope that I wasn't hired just tobe another pretty face. I mean how shallow can a person be to judge a person based on looks?

The funny thing reading these comments is that everyone who feels that the people pictured are strange or gross seem to not have mastered the English language. Pierced, tattooed, stretched, whatever you chose is your right, and can be altered to you liking. Lack of intelligence, however is not nearly as easy to alter. Instead of surfing the net and insulting people's chosen appearance, why not try getting a spelling book? 'Dat', 'c', 'y', 'dnt', etc., are NOT words.

doesnt that hurt getting all of those they kindof scare me
Yeah they hurt, but not as much as people think. The actual piercing is about two seconds of sharp pain. The healing varies from person to person and depends on the part of the body which is pierced. The healing can involve a little pain but can be kept to a minimum with proper cleaning and maintainence (think I spelled that wrong, but it's late so I can't be bothered changing it).
As for looking scary, yeah, they can do. We are trained from birth by the media and by those close to us who are ignorant on the subject of body modification to see these things as scary. Think about all the "big" movies and TV shows you watch. how many feature a heavily modified character as a good guy? Not many. Now think of the few which do, how many portray that character as just a normal person without any weird habits, vices or character traits ? few, if any, I'll bet.
In days long past body modification was a practice performed by "tribal savages", criminals and the "lower class" members of society, such as sailors, which explains alot of the views held against body modification.
Times have changed, it is time attitudes did as well.
Don't be afraid, we're as close to normal as you are.

I am actualy planning on getting horns at some point, when i can afford to get them done. Body modification is expsensive, i only have 7 piercings and 1 tattoo atm, tbu when i am finished i will have 28 piercings plus my horns and 8 tattos, one being an extensive tribal tattoo covering the entire left half of my body. It's going to cost me alot of money, but i will look how i want to look, i think body modification is fascinating. You're body may very well be your temple, but i don't see why you shouldn't decorate it a bit ^_^
I am also thinking of having my ears modified to look like elf ears ^_^
I do work, and i get paid well, i am also planning on having my own business within the next 5 years, not even in the body modification business but in fashion.
Anyone is alowed to do anything they choose to do, i would imagine all of those guys have worked hard in their life to modify their bodies like that, i find it hard enough affording my normal piercings sometimes.
I don't care if other people don't like how i look, as long as i like how i look. Even if someone does look horrible in my own oppinion, if they're happy with how they look i have no right to judge them.
I've also never met anyone with a body modification i've not liked, they've all been very friendly from my own experience.

all you people knocking them not even know them are the dumbest ones out there because they obviously have to have some type of income because all that body art is expensive to get and you can see they stretch their things, im sure some is new, theres always some type of cost involved or something. think before your ready to criticize. the ones that always have something quick to say about someone else are the most miserable ones themselves

I think everyone should be free of doing whatever they want to their bodies, so I respect them, but I do not think we should amire them because they don't fear the pain. What's the point? Pain is just silly and useless when there's no noble reason behind it.
I wanted to explain myself better, I meant they shouldn't BOAST about the pain they went through because I'm not impressed.

People who judge on appearance will miss out on far too much life has to offer. there are good people out there who chose to look different. this doesnt make them bad. It makes them wise. Why do people feel the need to look like everyone else? No one in history who has been noticed was normal. You want to be normal, enjoy mediocrity. I, for one, chose not to.

I don't care if other people don't like how i look, as long as i like how i look. Even if someone does look horrible in my own oppinion, if they're happy with how they look i have no right to judge them.
I've also never met anyone with a body modification i've not liked, they've all been very friendly from my own experience.

like i got my tragus' pierced, and now i want to get spiderbites like the dude from Disturbed has, and a nose ring, so i understand the concept of wanting more piercings.
ps. I LOVE the septum ring that first guy's got

I hope they know how immature it is to want to look like that

Hello.
So what if you don't find that attractive? Nor do i, But i totally respect them for making a choice they always knew might cause trouble because they want it.
Also, I had 16 piercings, Had quite a few jobs and am in a happy, long term non fuckedup relationship (:
Just goes to show i guess.
As long as you're comfortable with how you look, Dripping designer labels, metal or constontantly wrapped up in swathes of unflattering clothing, then that's all that matters.

Oh, notice that the first guy has become cross-eyed probably because of that spiral nose ring which invaded his visual field
