Emo Kids
January 22nd 2007 08:13
There are two popular forms of dress that are considered emo. The first includes more vintage and thrift store clothing, typically for a well-worn look. Some of the clothing leans toward khaki colors. T-shirts are typically of smaller sizes and with various prints-- often with images from the punk culture.
The other popular style of dress focuses on darker colors, and is more influenced by Goth fashion. Common to the emo stereotype is straight, dark colored hair (either black, red, or multi-colored ) which covers one eye (or the entire face). Males are pictured wearing pants tailored for females with a punk-rock style studded belt. Lip, eyebrow, and labret piercings are common throughout the style. Dark make-up (most notably black eyeliner, although red and pink eyeshadow is becoming increasingly popular) is present on both girls and boys.

It doesnt make u emo buy wearing to much makeup and looking like a skank!! Emo stands for emotional its not the kind of clothes u wear its a state of mind my god u people are stupid
You call them stupid, yet you are the one that isn't able to type out any form of readable sentence? There are stereotypes about all of the well known subcultures, whether it is goth, punk, country, rock, geek, et cetera. It's not just the emo world that gets made fun of, so get a grip and laugh with everyone else.
Without laughter, we would all go insane.

So incredibly serious about everything...
Why dont you people just leave them all alone.
So what if they decide to be emo or suddenly switch one day or whatever.
Let them be whatever they want to be and stop taking life so seriously.....
Have a little fun with it.

Emo is short for emotional but it started from music!
not a state of mind.
You can be emo by wearing "emo clothes" also with scene. What makes you emo?
I say its when you don't give a shit what you guys are saying. Just rather standout from the crowd and be our own people. Emo's don't cut. Some do, but most don't.
Just don't hate of them because they show their feelings.
It doesn't make you a bigger person to make fun of them.
They hear it so much it gets old and they don't really care anymore. =]

if you want to have emo style than do it
if you want to be scene than do it
Just make sure your right with Jesus Christ before you die. Because He loves you so much that He died for you so you don't have to be "emo"
Jesus hurt so we don't have to.
Jesus bled so we don't have to.
He died for our sins so if we trust in Him we don't have to face the horrors of hell (not that God sends us to hell we send ourselves there by rejecting Him on earth)
Jesus Loves
Atheists, emo kids, and Hardcore Christians all the same. He died for us all and He's there for you right now.
Love and Blessings to Everyone

emo is a fashion too..
so if you have dyed hair and wearing skinny jeans doesn't make you an emo inside.. only out..
so i hate ppl who call them selves emos, and they even don't know what that means really..
and preeps.. well, they hate emos too..
so just, if you really hate emm, fxcking leave them to live their life how they wanna live it.. it's not like it's your problem..
so chill out guys..
and all of emm, emo adn scene and punk, they have similar clothes, sometimes the same..
so, if you wanna call yourself an emo, you have to be one.. to listen to emo music, maybe cut yourself (not necessary), and just be youu.. have your own YOU.
soo you see now ;p

all you need to shut your mouths honestly.
You all know SHIT ALL.
fuckers.
No one should be labeled for the way they dress/feel.
Emo is short for emotinal, it's a state of mind.
Not a style.
It was originated by the music scene.
fuck.
You all need to grow some brains.
I'm not bashing anyone, putting them down or anything.
I'm just simply saying that you are all wrong.
Emo is not a style.
Scene is a style.
but whatever I don't even know why you guys would want to label yourselfs, that is up and beyond me.
Are you guys low enough to label each other? Beat each other up becuase of the way one dresses or feels? All you need to step into reality. Not everyone is built the same, we are all different. Some of us are broken beyond repair, some of us try to be someone else, some are whoeever the feel like it.
Just becuase one dresses in skinny jeans, band tops, hello kitty. Ectt doesn't mean you can sit here and say "god they're so emo, they should get lives" Last time i checked the had lives, you guys were the one without them. Trying to be tough, saying men don't cry or wear tight pants? Get out of your fantisy world, take a walk outside and see how horrible it can be, how horrible it is.
You can't sit here and say skinnys are for women.
FOR WOMEN? are you kidding me?
Yes women can wear them, if your not going to stick your frilly little tops over them. Guys look fine in them. That's just like saying Jordan und Oliver are only guys names. They arn't. ANYWHO ! , Just thought I would say that.
FTW: The world isn't always what you expect it to be.
No one asked to be pretty, ugly, popular, nerdy, shunned, gay. They just are. Kay.

It has since come to describe several variations of music with common roots and associated fashion and stereotypes.
In the mid-1980s, the term emo described a subgenre of hardcore punk which stemmed from the Washington, D.C. hardcore scene. In later years, the term emocore, short for "emotional hardcore",was also used to describe the emotional performances of bands in the Washington, D.C. "Revolution Summer" movement and some of the offshoot regional scenes such as Rites of Spring, Embrace, One Last Wish, Beefeater, Gray Matter, Fire Party, and later, Moss Icon.
In the mid-1990s, the term emo began to refer to the indie scene that followed the influences of Fugazi, which itself was an offshoot of the first wave of emo. Bands including Sunny Day Real Estate, Far and Texas Is the Reason had a more indie rock style of emo, more melodic and less chaotic. The so-called "indie emo" scene survived until the late 1990s, when many of the bands either disbanded or shifted to mainstream styles. As the remaining indie emo bands entered the mainstream, newer bands began to emulate the mainstream style.
Today popular bands like Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, and Paramore are rock bands that are identified as being in or evolved from the emo music genre.
There you have it.

Your all very imature.
coming from someone who is barely a teenager, Its pathetic that I can see how childish you are all being when you yoursleves (Asuming most of you are like 15-17) cannot see it.
Grow up.
All of these steriotypes and labels won't matter in a few year.
Once your out of highschool no one will care whose "Emo" and whose not.
Get a life, and start living it as yourselves, not whatever your trying to be.
