Every June, Loews Coronado Bay Resort, near San Diego, California plays host to the Dog Surfing Championships. Last year there were 60 canine competitors in three categories - small surfing dogs, large surfing dogs and combo surfing (dogs surfing with a human).
Some dogs try to earn extra points for style, with board shorts, sunglasses and even 4-legged wet suits being spotted on the competitors.
