How the 'Movie' Movies Rated on Rotten Tomatoes

It's official, Disaster Movie is the worst of all the 'movie' movies scoring lower than even the terrible Date Movie and pointless Epic Movie. Disaster Movie isn't the first to score 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, but it is a rare honour.

Rotten Tomatoes – Date movie 2006. 6%. Consensus – memo to would be parodists. Referencing other movies is not the same as satirising them. Once upon a time, when giants like Airplane! and Top Secret roamed the earth, filmmakers trafficking in the fine art of the spoof would bring a madcap energy to the proceedings. Now simply trotting out a guy in a ‘don’t vote for Pedro’ shirt is supposed to leave audiences in stiches. Epic movie 2007. 2%. A crude comedy with nothing new or insightful to say about the subjects it satirises. Meet the Spartans 2008. 2%. A tired, unfunny, offensive waste of time. Meet the Spartans scrapes the bottom of the cinematic barrel. Disaster Movie 2008. 0%. How does the tomatometer work?

Epic Movie was billed as a comedy.

Well I did not see anyone laughing.

It was that bad.

Surely one "0" could have sufficed? WHO makes and WHY are these films made? Surely they must have an audience? Do they go along knowing it will be bad, but just wanna cheap laugh...possibly...
