The Power of Color to Retailers

February 7th 2011 02:10
How do colours effect purchases?

The retailing game is all about influencing those who enter your store or visit your website.
The world of visual persuasion is the strongest weapon a marketer has.

The basics of colors and consumers are:
Yellow -> Attention grabbing
Red -> Create a sense of urgency
Blue -> Trust and security
Green -> Relaxing
Orange -> Call to action!
Pink -> Femininity and romance
Black -> Luxury and class
Purple -> Soothing and calming

However, there's much more to it than that!
The info-graphic below explains the use of colour in sales both traditional and online shopping. It also looks into other aspects which influence consumer behaviour.
