The Early Days of Apple Mac
February 6th 2009 05:18
Thanks to the Telegraph, today let's take a look at some of the first computers sold by Apple Inc.
Designed and hand-built by Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the Apple I was Apple's first product, and went on sale in July 1976 at the distinctly unsettling price of $666.66. Only 200 units were produced, and unlike many other computers of the day, the Apple I came as a fully assembled circuit board containing around 30 chips.
The first ever Apple Macintosh went on sale on January 24, 1984. It was the first commercially successful home computer to feature both a mouse-based input system, as well as an easy-to-use graphical user interface. It came bundled with two applications -- MacWrite and MacPaint -- and became an instant cult hit among geeks.
